Geri Halliwell’s movie receives a lukewarm response even before hitting the screens

The movie, made in partnership with Sony PlayStation, had some stunning visuals in the released trailer. Some fast-paced thrilling shots on the track really set the tone for the movie. However, fans failed to see the appeal of the movie.

Geri, sharing the trailer on her Instagram, wrote, “Excited to share a sneak peek of #GranTurismoMovie – based on the inspiring true story of an impossible dream. In movie theaters this summer!”

Some just did not understand the concept of a movie on Gran Turismo.

One fan pointed out how well-crafted the intro to the Gran Turismo 7 game was. The idea of having a film after that just seemed mundane.

The fact that the movie was based on the life of a pro gamer who became an actual racer was rather unappealing to some.

One fan had a pretty harsh critique of Hollywood lately making adaptations and ruining franchises.

Another user compared the concept to that of the Need for Speed, another game that was adapted into a movie. Released in 2014, NFS too had a brilliant star cast with Aaron Paul, Rami Malek, and Dakota Johnson, to name a few.

The movie will release on August 11, 2023. Are you excited for it to hit the screens?
