Marriage is not only the union of two people but also the union of two families. Weddings at times are events where different cultures, religions, and nationalities come together to form everlasting bonds among people. However, for Christian Horner and Geri Halliwell, things were different.

For Horner and Halliwell, things were pretty rough at the starting. When they decided to tie the know, a close friend of the couple, as per The Mirror, stated, “Over the years Christian has been very close to his parents – particularly to his dad who shares his love of motor racing. But recent events have thrown everything into doubt. His mum is particularly upset.”
“It’s a real shame and everyone involved is upset.”
“Weddings are expected to bring families closer together, but this engagement has driven a wedge between people.”
The Red Bull boss and the Ginger Spice are one of the most powerful couples in Formula 1 now. Even though things have settled down a bit for them, the start of their togetherness was met with stiff resistance from the family.
What caused the rift in Christian Horner’s family?
Christian Horner and Geri Horner made their relationship official in October 2014. Even though this might look like just a couple letting everyone know about their bonding, things were not the same.
Furthermore, the couple decided to get engaged in October 2014 and then get married in May 2015. The decision came right after Horner parted ways with his ex-partner Beverly.

Moreover, the British boss made his relationship public with the Spice Girl just six months after his daughter Olivia was born. All of these events made Horner’s parents unhappy and eventually they did not attend the Red Bull supremo’s wedding.
Talking about this, one of Horner’s relatives conveyed, “You can say that his parents are absolutely devastated. We won’t be going to the wedding.”
“There is a lot more to this story than people know about – to do with his ex-partner.”

It is unknown if the Red Bull boss’s parents have forgotten everything and have accepted the power F1 couple.
