Formula E has attracted many big manufacturers to have a team in the series. Big brands such as Porsche, Mercedes, and Audi have all tried their hand in the series. Interestingly, Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko mentioned that he has no interest in having a team in Formula E.

Marko called the Formula E series a fraud as he claims that they use large diesel generators to recharge their batteries. The Austrian revealed that the Red Bull team has no interest in entering the sport.

We told them very clearly about our decision: Red Bull advisor

As reported by Motorsport-Turkey, Helmut revealed that he had been to one Formula E race, and that was it for him. He claims that he saw huge diesel generators during his visit to Uruguay.

” A lot of people tried to get us there, but visiting one race was enough for me. We told them very clearly, ‘No, we’re not coming’. I realized in Formula E that it was actually a name fraud. I watched the race in Uruguay and then I saw these huge diesel generators.” claimed Helmut.

Formula E uses a special blend of glycerin & sugar alcohol for recharging the batteries. So it would be interesting to hear from Marco about how he got to the conclusion that the series uses diesel generators.

Well, the statement of the Austrian means that the team is unlikely to enter the series in the near future. It is unfortunate that a brand like Red Bull has no plans to enter Formula E despite so much interest from other top names in motorsports. Hopefully, the Austrian team could change their mind about this decision and try their hand in arguably the most exciting motorsport series in the world right now.
