The Royal Family honored the English singer with an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) on New Year’s eve. Hence, Horner took to Instagram to post a congratulatory story for Mel B. The Briton posted a picture of him posing alongside his wife, Halliwell, and her group member, Mel B.

Emma Raducanu & F1 star Lewis Hamilton earn medals

Apart from Mel B, several others, too, received honors from the royal family in the 2021 New Year’s honors list. One of the biggest names is the high-flying Tennis star, Emma Raducanu for her impeccable achievements in 2021. The 19-year-old won the US Open last year, consequently making her the British no.1 tennis player.

She did eventually receive the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award. And to add up to her monumental success, the British royal family decided to allocate her a spot on the honors list.

All in all, the royal family had chosen around 1,122 individuals in last year’s honors list. 361 individuals for the British Empire Medal (BEM), 253 individuals for the Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE), and 508 individuals for the Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE).

The royal family hailed Hamilton as a knight for his achievements in F1 (Winning his record-equaling seventh world championship title in 2020). However, amidst the pandemic, the Briton had to wait a bit longer to earn the much-yearned ‘Sir’ before his name.
