Yuki Tsunoda makes his way to the F1 circuit in the Alpha Tauri cockpit in 2021. The Japanese national performed well with his F2 team in the championship, bagging P3 in the driver’s title. Following that, his F2 team owner Trevor Carlin shared a glimpse of Yuki ahead of his F1 season.

Yuki Tsunoda bagged the FIA Rookie of the Year a couple of days earlier. Considering his power packed stint with Carlin Motorsports in this season, he was the best bid for the award. He stays behind the two FDA drivers, Mick and Callum, but even then, P3 in the rookie season is quite the prize for Yuki.

The Japanese was a product of the Red Bull Academy. Competing with highly skilled pilots in the F2 championship, he surprised many with his pace. The vigor he portrayed got him into his seat at Alpha Tauri. Although Kvyat was improving fast, he had started late.

Trevor Carlin gives his best wishes to Tsunoda before he starts with his F1 season. The rookie starts in a new era of F1. He has the perfect setting and motivation to make it big. Will he succeed? Well, only time will tell. In the meantime, Carlin boosts his confidence with words of inspiration.

“As long as he’s not overwhelmed by the F1 environment, I see no reason why he shouldn’t be able to do the same as Lando Norris. And maybe he has something of Max Verstappen in him,” concluded the owner of Carlin Motorsports.

Yuki Tsunoda lines up alongside Pierre Gasly, the Italian Grand Prix winner of 2020. Though unprecedented situations got him to the podium at Monza, he is and forever will be the winner of 2020. Following that, he has been moving up positions in races with flair and style. Considering that, Yuki already has tough competition.

Yuki Tsunoda can let the pressure get to him this season. However, he can blow off the steam as this season is being treated as a transitional season for many. With drivers shifting all over the grid, the season will move past in adjusting to the cars. Once we step into 2022, the real action begins.

“He learns and understands the car very quickly and he has natural talent, so it’s important to adapt that to each championship and move on with it. If he picks up F1 as fast as F2, he’ll be right on Pierre as soon as they get back to Europe,” concluded Carlin.

Well, Yuki Tsunoda is swimming with the sharks in 2021. The competition in F2 may have been tight. However, the competition in F1 is cut-throat. We see talented drivers like Nico and Kvyat sitting out. If Yuki wants to survive, he better not let slack get over him.
