“Can I tell you a secret? They actually love each other,” said Geri Halliwell about the Mercedes and Red Bull Team principals. Toto Wolff and Christian Horner’s relationship almost feels like that of a husband-wife. Both have immense respect for each other and underlying admiration, but they are opposing every little thing that they can. Maybe that’s the nature of their jobs. This time it’s Christian Horner who has opened up about his bittersweet relationship with the Mercedes team principal, Toto Wolff. But what did the Red Bull TP exactly say?

The world of Formula 1 is as cutthroat as it gets. That means not only the drivers, but everyone in the team, including the team principals, is always on the lookout to throw a jab at others, especially Toto Wolff and Christian Horner. And despite Wolff’s team not being anywhere near Red Bull in terms of performance in recent years, the rivalry and snarky comments don’t seem to be picking up.

Calling Red Bull out for their dominance, advising that other cars look like F2 in front of them, and calling Max Verstappen’s record something that’ll only be limited to a Wikipedia page, Toto Wolff has taken many jabs at Red Bull this past season. But as we know, Christian Horner isn’t one to let go off easily as he recently suggested how Lewis Hamilton contacted him for a seat at Red Bull and he denied stating that only because Hamilton hasn’t won a race in two years.

As their bittersweet relationship keeps on building, Christian Horner was recently asked about his relationship with Wolff on Sky Sports F1 podcast. The Red Bull TP was asked, “How would you describe your relationship with Toto Wolff?”, to which he replied, “Toto, I have a massive amount of respect for everything that he’s done and achieved. But we’re competitors. And I’ve never been a believer that you can be the best mate with your competitor. I think it’s dishonest and I think that I want everyone in my team to see whoever we’re racing as competition.”

Now, let’s have a look at some of the most memorable moments between our ‘F1’s beloved duo’ Toto Wolff and Christian Horner.

Who blocked whom? Here are the best moments and savage replies between Toto Wolff and Christian Horner

Now that Christian Horner has made it clear that they cannot be best friends due to their job requirements with Toto Wolff, we have assumed that the snarky comments they throw at each other’s team are just ‘normal friends’ banter. The most iconic one, you might ask? Well, it is from Drive to Survive. While discussing the porpoising problem, as Wolff accused other TPs and F1 of it being too dangerous, Horner replied, “You’ve got a problem; change your f**king car.”

Earlier this year, again talking about Toto Wolff on a podcast, Christian Horner said, “I think he’s blocked on my phone” as he laughed. Also, in the same podcast we were discussing earlier, Horner advised that he would never smash his headphones as Wolff did in Abu Dhabi in 2021. Coming to Wolff, when during an interview Franz Tost and Horner were asked about who the longest-standing TP is, Wolff chimed in and told Horner, “Okay, so you’re next in line to quit—that would make life easier!”
