Max Verstappen is a prodigy in the world of F1. The Dutchman is flying through the tracks this season, second only to the Mercedes AMGs. Popular opinion would be that Max got frustrated of trailing behind them. Well, the Red Bull No. 33 knows better.
Max Verstappen has several DNFs this season. Even though his stint at Imola was threatening Bottas, a tire burst saw him retire to the garage. Well, F1 caught the Dutchman earlier and in an exclusive questioning him of the faults in the Milton Keynes outfit.
“There are quite a few things at the moment. First of all we are always too slow at the beginning [of the season], so we need to make sure we have a car that hits the ground running and is a lot more competitive,” expressed Verstappen.

Well, the Red Bull No. 33 outlines a very important point here. Pundits already stated that Red Bull needs to perform from the very first race itself if they intend to topple Mercedes.
Max Verstappen got into the F1 circus at the tender age of 17. The Dutchman not only has his experience but has also developed a good understanding of the car. Well, with that comes his knowledge of where his team slacks.

“There are quite a few things we have to work on to be able to fight them [Mercedes],” expressed Max.
The Dutchman has matured in the years gone by. His racing has improved, his frivolous ways are history. In short, he is a recipe cooking for greatness. However, his time is yet to come. All he can do is keep learning in the meantime.

Although Verstappen has a few complaints about his team, he has several reasons to be grateful. Though he may not be very expressive, he knows the places where his team excels.
“In terms of operations, we are good: we have really good pitstops, we’re good at strategy. I don’t think there are a lot of things that go wrong there,” concluded Verstappen.

Red Bull need to focus on their power unit. They need to be sure that their drivers don’t lose out on pace. Meanwhile, the pundits in the team need to compile a solid strategy to stop their cars from slacking behind at the start of the season. Once this happens, the Silver Arrows could have a tough time.
