“Would I rather be feared or loved? Easy. Both. I want people to be afraid of how much they love me.”– Steve Carell during an Episode of The Office. In Max Verstappen’s case, his competitors fear his dominance whereas his fans are loving it to the fullest right now. Yet a couple of days ago, during the Dutch GP, Steve Carell decided to diss Max Verstappen’s home race as he gave insights about the Las Vegas GP. What did Steve Carell say?

Max Verstappen couldn’t have asked for a better crowd at the Dutch GP. The crowd was electric and cheered for the Dutchman every time he passed by. The fans, despite multiple thunderstorms, remained cheerful. Even the red flag couldn’t stop the celebrations as they danced their evening away with loud music. There was even a DJ on the pit straight, pumping out the beats before the race started. Just absolutely electric, as they got to witness Verstappen win his home race and equal the record of 9 consecutive race wins.

Steve Carell, who’s on vacation with his family in the Netherlands, decided to pay a visit to the Dutch GP and was seen with the Red Bull racing team. Despite advising himself as an honorary member of the Red Bull team, Carell dismissed Verstappen’s home race when he was asked about what Las Vegas would be like. He advised that Vegas will not be like the Netherlands and that it will be a different atmosphere. He explained that Vegas will be a different vibe and that people would be losing money during the race.

It will be a different atmosphere” he was then questioned “In what way?” to which he replied, “Everyone will be losing money gambling while the race happens. There will be slot machines at every seat. It’s going to be a very different vibe.”

However, this wasn’t the first time a reference from The Office was made this year. Actually, as recently as the Austrian GP, a reference was made. Let’s see what it was.

Oscar Piastri channels his inner John Krasinski

John Krasinski, infamous for playing the role of ‘Jim’ in the series The Office, was recently made a reference on the F1 circuit. Do you recall Jim looking at the camera moments from the show? That is exactly what the reference is. Before the Austrian GP, there was a Jetpack show. Unfortunately, one of the guys crashed. Just after crashing, the camera was focused on Oscar Piastri who gave the “Jim look”. F1’s caption to the video was “Oscar Piastri nailing ‘The Office’ camera look after this jet-pack mishap! 😂”

When Oscar Piastri was asked about the incident later on during a video, he replied that the camera was already on him before the guy crashed. And as soon as he crashed, the camera went onto him. Piastri revealed how couldn’t just sit there without any reaction as the jetpack guy just crashed. That is the origin and backstory of how and why the office look happened.
