Max Verstappen‘s love life is very well known. He has been in a long-term relationship with the daughter of the legendary three-time world champion, Kelly Piquet. Now, Kelly has the honor of being both the daughter and the girlfriend of two three-time world champions. Naturally, during the prize-giving ceremony, she celebrated in style with Max Verstappen.

Kelly also channeled her inner comedian ahead of the prize-giving ceremony. While Max Verstappen was definitely having the time of his life, the same could not be said for the FIA. The post-“investigation” ordeal still loomed in the air as the motorsport authority tried to celebrate the end of an extraordinary season.

Max Verstappen and Kelly Piquet’s day to remember

Now quite used to being the main attraction, Max Verstappen and his team from Red Bull once again came well prepared. Christian Horner, Sergio Perez, and Geri Halliwell were also present at the celebration. All three gents showed up with a black tuxedo, which of course, is a huge contrast from their regular appearance with race suits, and/or Red Bull tee shirts.

However, it was Kelly Piquet who stole the show. She took to Instagram to show off her attire. She wore a stunning off-white dress from the 2006 archives of the Elie SAAB world collection. Magdalena Roza did her hair and makeup. However, it was her arm accessory that captured the attention of fans. She had the most expensive, and extremely unique accessory – the three-time world champion Max Verstappen himself. She cheekily added the caption to the story, “Arm accessory @maxverstappen“.

While the Red Bull camp was celebrating, one person was expected to be missing from the ceremony. After recent allegations of sexism, and the FIA-Wolffs saga, the president of the FIA, Muhammed Ben Sulayem, however, did arrive and present the award.

Ben Sulayem’s Fall

If you were wondering why there were speculations about whether Muhammed Ben Sulayem would show up, it’s because he was hospitalized! Earlier in the day, a press release from an FIA spokesperson revealed that he was treated for a concussion, and is expected to make a full recovery. A lot of speculations spread online about a potential fall causing this health concern.

Sources later revealed that despite making an attendance at the awards ceremony, he had to take a much smaller role than was initially planned. With the political landscape and Liberty looking to cut ties with FIA, however, Ben Sulayem might soon have to take a much smaller role in the governance of the sport as well.
