Max Verstappen gave it his all in the 2023 season and did not leave a shred of doubt with his performances every race weekend. We are sure he would be feeling quite satisfied with his performances and no one would enjoy the holiday and this winter break as he would. So heading into the break, the Red Bull team wanted to inquire a little about his plans and sat him down before he jetted off for his break. In this casual conversation, the Dutchman unknowingly revealed the influence of his girlfriend, Kelly Piquet, in his life.

The Brazilian has been with the world champion since 2020, much before he earned the title. The two have only grown closer and anyone could tell, become a family with Piquet’s daughter Penelope in the mix as well. The family claim was solidified when the Dutchman, during his conversation on the Instagram reel posted by redbullracing, revealed his Christmas plans.

It’s a universal truth that everyone either does or likes to spend the holidays with their family. So going through a round of holiday questions, the Dutchman revealed his girlfriend’s influence in his life. When asked, “How do you celebrate Christmas?” Verstappen replied, “Lately, it’s Brazil (Piquet’s home) or just at home in Monaco. But you know there it’s warm, right? So it’s a bit of a different Christmas. A few drinks and yeah, I don’t know, jump in the pool.”

Lately, the Dutchman is spending his Christmases with the Piquet family. We can all understand Verstappen spending time with his girlfriend’s family, something that many fans wish changes soon.

We perhaps don’t see it as often now, but Verstappen was a hopeless romantic toward Piquet initially, even on Instagram. Now, the two have become more private with just public support toward each other’s achievements. However, as time has passed and the two have grown closer, the entire world of F1 has started asking them the one question. The nagging age-old question of marriage. Verstappen was put on the spot during an interview. His answer will tell us the two aren’t too worried about the prospect of matrimony.

“Get married? Me? Now you’ve publicly pressured me to say a date! I don’t know, time will tell. At the moment I’m very, very happy with Kelly, but personally, I don’t have a timetable for when I’ll get down on one knee in front of her. It’s all supposed to happen spontaneously,” confessed the Dutchman.
