F1 isn’t just a sport about who builds the fastest car. It’s something about the connection between the driver, the team, and the car. One silly mistake and you’re gone. Charles Leclerc barely made it into Q2 of the Dutch GP after another silly mistake from the Ferrari stable. However, this time around the Monegasque decided to adopt Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen’s attitude against that as he broke the shackles. What is this attitude about?

We’ve heard the team radios getting heated this season. Especially Max Verstappen’s and Lewis Hamilton’s. Recall when Max Verstappen ranted at his race engineer GP for not allowing him to do 2 fast laps in transitioning conditions? Then there was Lewis Hamilton who had a back-and-forth with engineers regarding the track limits and the car being slow. Seems like Leclerc has joined the rant group.

In the ever-changing conditions in Q1 at the Dutch GP, during the last stint the weather and tires played it part. Those on the new tires were improving massively. Charles Leclerc just barely made it to Q2 as he struggled on his tires and with traffic. Then came the Monegasque’s rant toward his race engineer as Leclerc expressed his frustration.

According to @LukeSmithF1’s tweet, Charles Leclerc said, “For f**k’s sake. Come on. Now, let’s be on it, traffic, the traffic is the most important, tire warm up, everything, this is important. This is the only priority we have. Let’s focus on that and everything will be fine.”

It is quite unusual for a Ferrari driver to complain against the team like that. Even Frederic Vasseur recently made comments about the little incidents when Leclerc has made comments that aren’t necessarily great.

Frederic Vasseur advised Charles Leclerc to stay calm

Ferrari hasn’t been up to the mark when it comes to the strategy or the performance. Hence a little frustration from the driver’s side is expected. The qualifying session in Canada is a great example. However, Fred Vasseur advises that Charles Leclerc should stay calm when such things happen as the driver doesn’t have full information yet.

Frederic Vasseur told Gazzetta, “Charles didn’t expect a season like this. Leclerc is an impetuous character who doesn’t hold back when something doesn’t go as planned. However, for his own good and that of the team, sometimes it’s better to calm down before speaking. When it’s hot, you don’t have all the information you need to form a definitive judgment and in front of an open microphone it’s better to take your time.” [Translated Via Google]
