The fastest lap of a Grand Prix gets a driver a single point if he finishes in the top ten. When he was leading the race at in Monaco, Max Verstappen had his eye on that one extra point that could help him in the standings. However, when he asked his team who had set the quickest lap, Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko told him to forget about it and concentrate on the race, as he was being chased by Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz.

Can the Dutchmen take the fight to Lewis Hamilton?

This season, Verstappen has shown that he has what it takes to put up a challenge to the seven-time world champion. The two have been neck-on-neck ever since the season kicked off in Bahrain.

As it stands, Max leads the championship table with 105 points, the first time in his career, while Hamilton has fallen down to second place with 101. The Mercedes driver would look to close the gap and reclaim the lead in the upcoming race.

As we prepare for the next round of the season, which takes place in the streets of Baku, Verstappen will aim for another win while Hamilton would hope to learn from his mistakes at Monaco and redeem himself at Azerbaijan.
