All the Ferrari fans better be careful! Red Bull, Max Verstappen, and his chassis RB18 are waiting patiently to spoil the Tifosi party. How one may ask? New parts is the answer.

The Austrian team won’t have enough time to test their new upgrades. However, Boss Helmut Marko chose to be optimistic and feels they can catch up.

Max Verstappen will drive his RB18 with upgrades

Red Bull‘s reliability has proven to be somewhat of a disaster. Reigning champion Max Verstappen twice did not finish the race and is sitting quite behind title contender Charles Leclerc in the points table. Though to his credit, he won the Saudi GP, but not without dodging the fearsome Ferrari right on his tail. However, Verstappen lost any hope of catching up to Leclerc at the Australian GP and was later faced with his car smoking from the rear.

Boss Helmut Marko recently spoke about the reasons behind introducing the new parts. He said, “It is very clear: Ferrari has such a complex package that is easy to coordinate, everything has to be right so that we can counteract it. That’s exactly why we take this risk of bringing new parts with just one training session.”

“We want to attack fully and see it our chance instead of just waiting. Ferrari and Leclerc are too strong for that.”

Can Red Bull turn it around this time?

Max, already frustrated with the way things have turned out, will look forward to this attack. Marko, on the other hand, is also positive that they can still catch up to the Maranello team. The Austrian cited the famous Sebastian Vettel’s last-minute 2010 title win as an example and claimed how the RB-18 is “absolutely capable of winning in the right configuration”.

The reliability issues could be a problem that came up after Max’s win last year. The car apparently had very little time to catch up to everyone else and hence underperforms right now. Earlier, it was also suggested that there is no easy fix to the car’s problems.

Marko also stressed the fact that Mercedes needs to be hawk-eyed and cannot be counted out. The British team is very much capable of shocking everyone and possibly winning at the last moment.
