The much anticipated season 4 of Netflix’s show Drive to Survive has finally arrived. Fans around the world have waited for almost a year to see the new season of the show. And from the first episode onwards, we can clearly see how Netflix has covered the rivalry between Red Bull and Mercedes in the 2021 season.

In the first episode, we see how Red Bull was the faster team as compared to their rival Mercedes. Horner was bullish about the chances of the Austrian team at the Bahrain Grand Prix. The Red Bull team were coming off from a successful preseason test that saw Mercedes struggling.

After the first qualifying session in Bahrain, Red Bull team principal Christian Horner was exuding confidence.

While waiting for Toto Wolff to complete his interview, Horner confidently said to his press officer.

” **** it. We’ve just got to keep the smile off his face, huh? I mean, the team has never had pressure. They’ve never really had a sustained challenge. Just gotta keep the pressure on,” said Horner.

Red Bull team boss targets Mercedes in the first episode

Despite having the speed and the tires on their German rivals, Red Bull and Max Verstappen finished second in the race. Mercedes were being second-best but outsmarted Red Bull with their strategy. But there was no sign of Max in the first episode.

As reported by GrandPrixnews247.com, the 2021 world champion Max Verstappen did not feature in season 4 of Drive to Survive. The Dutch driver made a conscious decision to avoid giving any interviews to Netflix. Verstappen mentioned he will continue his stance against the show as he does not endorse the same idea of F1 as them.

“I won’t change my mind and I understand, of course, it needs to be like that for Netflix, and most people like that… it’s just not my thing. I’ll probably watch it and see how nicely over the top it is and then just continue with my life and I’ll probably watch some other documentaries on Netflix,” said Max.

It looks like Red Bull would continue to take part in the show by team principal Christian Horner from now on. But the fans won’t mind that one bit. The team boss is arguably the star of season 4 as he defends Max Verstappen and his team throughout the season against Mercedes.
