Max Verstappen is an extraordinary talent on the grid. Undoubtedly, he has been the only driver this year around to have taken the fight right to the Mercedes drivers, Lewis Hamilton, and Valtteri Bottas.

Although he is the only imminent threat to the Mercedes Supremacy, he fell short of one achievement this year. This was his last season to be the Youngest World Champion in order to beat Sebastian Vettel’s record that he set in 2010.
Back in the day, the Rhinelander had achieved the same with the Red Bull in 2010. Donning the same navy blue overalls, Vettel became the youngest World Champion at 23 years and 134 days. Max having turned 23 this year and exhausted the age limit for the record.

Although he could not be the youngest World Champion, Max Verstappen still has a few records and awards to his name. Starting with the record of the youngest F1 driver to score world championship points.
Besides that, he was awarded the Lorenzo Bandini Trophy for his surreal skills. A product of the Red Bull Academy, Max became the youngest driver in F1 at the 2015 Australian Grand Prix at 17.

Max Verstappen has a bright future ahead of him
Max has to his name the 2015 Rookie of the Year. With a shocking performance in his maiden year, the Dutchman was already turning heads. With Dr. Marko’s confidence and Max’s sheer raw talent, everyone thought he would have toppled Vettel’s record.
Although Max has missed the chance to be the youngest Champion, he should not get demoralized. There are several records that the Dutchman could target. Who knows, the records Lewis has set might get usurped by Verstappen a few years down the line.
The Briton presently enjoys an unchallenged lead in the Drivers’ Championship with 282 points. A well-deserved lead. However, across the handful of instances that saw the Mercedes #44’s lead threatened, it was always Max Verstappen.

With years ahead of him and a new era in F1, Verstappen stands a solid chance of making his way into the history books. What’s more, with Lewis Hamilton hinting at his retirement, the future looks brighter for the Red Bull #33.
The 2021 season boasts of an exhausting 23 race calendar. With the new regulations coming in, there is a possibility that Mercedes will not enjoy their surreal lead. In that case, with Verstappen’s pace and his control, he will be a concern to the Brackley-based outfit.
