Last year, after the overhaul in the regulations that ushered in a new era for Formula 1, Red Bull was the team to beat. It appeared as though they had perfected the latest regulations, such was their dominance and pace. Naturally, the others did look to the trendsetters for inspiration. The one team that has improved the most since last year has arguably been Aston Martin. So much so that they have become a bona fide podium contender from being only the 7th best team on the grid last year. Obviously, the boys and girls back at base in Silverstone have worked very hard over the course of last year and the winter break. However, Horner believes the plaudits for Aston Martin and Fernando Alonso‘s exploits deserve to be shared at Milton-Keynes, too!

In the aftermath of Alonso’s brilliant P3 finish at yesterday’s Bahrain GP, Horner was quoted by ESPN as saying, “They say imitation is the biggest form of flattery and it’s good to see the old car going so well. It’s flattering to see the resemblance of that car to ours so it was great to see the three of them on the podium.”

Even though people may try to suggest that Fallows’ arrival is direct evidence of Aston Martin copying the Bulls, Horner doesn’t seem to be too fussed about it all.

He told ESPN, “Well, no, because I think we have a wonderful team and everything has to evolve. Nothing stands still,” when asked if he regretted letting Fallows go to Alonso’s new home.
