The Drive to Survive series might portray the Team Principals as rivals that are ready to prey upon the other one, but that is only limited to on-track action. But all TPs usually are a tight group that has the responsibility of keeping the other one in check. James Vowles, the Williams Team Principal and Former Toto Wolff ally, has now come out and made a defining statement on Christian Horner’s investigation. What did he say?
Christian Horner was recently accused of inappropriate behavior towards employees. As a result of these accusations, Red Bull has launched an investigation. Rumors came out suggesting that Red Bull advised Horner to resign as a result of the investigation but he denied it and will remain in the current role until the verdict is out.

James Vowles, while speaking about the allegations against Christian Horner, said, “These allegations are allegations. I’m afraid I don’t have any understanding of what is behind them and the significance of what has happened. All I can say should this ever happen in our guard, we’ll be entirely supportive in terms of fixing it and making sure we have a culture that is accepting of everyone.”
When asked about the result of the investigation leading to Horner’s exit, Vowles replied, “It means we have to look each other in the mirror and make sure that we are posing the right questions internally, and acting in a way that we can be proud, not only today, but also in ten years.”
Not sure if James Vowles would’ve made such a statement if he was still working with Toto Wolff. After all, we all know about the special relationship that Horner and Wolff share. Yet, there was one thing that united the two during this winter break.

The Red Bull TP and the Mercedes CEO are two personalities that couldn’t be further apart. One thing tries to sugarcoat things while the other one is brutally honest to the point where it starts hurting. The pursuit of the Constructors’ Championship was what united Wolff and Horner earlier but Mercedes has been nowhere near the championship in recent years.
But Toto Wolff wouldn’t leave his friend Horner alone. The iconic duo found another way to unite–investigations. Toto Wolff was put under investigation by the FIA a couple of months ago regarding the accusations of a conflict of interest with Susie Wolff. The FIA eventually took the investigation back after a major backlash.
