The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was a nail-biting race as it was the championship decider between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. Daimler CEO, Ola Källenius was quite impressed by the qualifying lap by the Dutch driver and sent a message to Red Bull advisor, Dr. Helmut Marko during Sunday’s highly anticipated race.

The situation between Hamilton and Verstappen was tense as they headed into the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi. Källenius was backing the Dutch driver to take the title home and even gave an inspiring message to the team’s advisor on Sunday.

Daimler CEO was quite impressed by Max Verstappen in Abu Dhabi
As they prepared for the season’s last race in Abu Dhabi, the rivalry between Hamilton and Verstappen was heated. Källenius was rooting for Max to win the championship, and he even sent Dr. Marko a motivational note on Sunday.

The championship title went down to the wire in Abu Dhabi
The Dutch driver started from pole position for Sunday’s race, but Hamilton took the lead as soon as the lights went out. Sergio Perez of Red Bull, on the other hand, resolutely refused to let the Mercedes driver pass him so that Verstappen could catch up.
After Hamilton passed Perez, it seemed like only a matter of time before he took the win. Max’s title hopes were fading away, until Nicholas Latifi crashed, bringing out a safety car. A controversial decision by the FIA saw both title contenders side by side for the last laps of the race.

Lewis did his best to keep Verstappen in his rearview mirrors, but failed; resulting in Max taking the lead of the race to the chequered flag.
