FIA has released the detailed schedule of the biggest-ever F1 calendar in 2022 that is all set to begin on the 20th of March in Bahrain. The season will witness two triple headers covering a total of 23 Grand Prix, the last one being at Abu Dhabi on the 20th of November. After an exciting title fight in 2021, the excitement is mounting up amongst the fans for another enriching experience in 2022.

The new season comes with a major overhaul in the regulations, arguably the biggest since 1983. Red Bull, McLaren, Aston Martin, and Haas have already revealed their 2022 livery, adding up to the thrill. This season will see the new addition of the inaugural Miami GP, scheduled for 8th May.

Owing to an elaborate race calendar with a shorter timeframe, there have been some changes in the race weekends. FIA has scrapped the Thursday media event, in an effort to reduce the F1 weekend to 3 days. FIA plans to shift the Friday practice session later in the day to accommodate media activities in the morning.

That means FP1 will move from 11:30 am local time at most races to either 1:00 pm or 2:00 pm. Moreover, FP2 will move from its usual 3:00 pm local slot to the late afternoon, starting at 5:00 pm local time. There has been a shift in the timing of FP3 and Qualifying Saturdays, which are moving up by one hour at most events.

However, the Sunday main race event is mostly untouched. Almost all Grand Prix will continue to start on the hour, with an exception of Miami GP, which will go at 3:30 pm local time.
