Revealed: Max Verstappen’s Thoughtful Gift for Environmentalist Sebastian Vettel

Ahead of the decisive season finale at Abu Dhabi, there were early festivities for the F1 drivers as they received their secret Santa gifts. In a video recently released by F1, there were a lot of cheeky and thoughtful gifts for our favorite drivers to make the festivities more fun. Max Verstappen got former 4-time champion and former Red Bull star Sebastian Vettel for secret Santa.

The Dutchman was preparing to go into the season finale at the time in Abu Dhabi. However, this did not stop him from running his creative horses to decide on a suitable gift for the German.

Max Verstappen had a perfect gift for Vettel

The Red Bull star weighed in with a funny yet wholesome gift for the Aston Martin driver. He thought of a gift that closely relates to Vettel and fans are surely validating his choice.

Verstappen gifted him a “litter picker” and “bee hotel furniture”. Seb could not control a cheeky laugh about it while he also appreciated the thoughtful gesture. He initially guessed it to be from Mick Schumacher or George Russell. However, he was shocked to know that it was from Max Verstappen.

“Oh really! I’m not sure how much he had to do with that, to be honest. But Thank You, Max. I hope you win the championship,” said the German. It’s no secret that Max Verstappen did indeed win the championship that weekend.

Sebastian Vettel is not a man who is active on social media but he surely attempts to make a change on the ground. He recently organized a karting race in Saudi Arabia for women who want to pursue the sport. Fans can often see him around the paddock picking up the litter and throwing it in the waste can.

On more than one occasion, he was seen helping the cleaning crew at the end of the Grand Prix weekend. Verstappen surely had this in mind while choosing the litter picker. Ahead of the 2021 Austrian GP, Vettel worked on a project to create a haven for bees and other insects in the area around the Red Bull Ring. This was most certainly the idea behind the second gift.

This was not the only secret Santa gift fans loved. Fernando Alonso, Esteban Ocon, and others also had some wholesome ideas for Christmas gifts to their fellow drivers. Check them out on F1’s YouTube video.
