Remember when Red Bull replaced Daniil Kvyat mid-season with Max Verstappen to pair alongside Daniel Ricciardo back in 2016? Looks like the fans are wishing for the 2016 RB duo to make a comeback as the lineup for the team as Sergio Perez reaches an unpleasant milestone. Why did the fans say so? After what was a redemption race in Austria for Sergio Perez, the Weekend at Silverstone was a great place to build momentum on. The Mexican had previously failed to qualify for the Q3 4 times in a row. The pace looked good for Perez coming into the British GP qualifying having finished in the Top 5 in both the session on Friday.

However, disaster struck once again for Checo who got out in Q1 at Silverstone. After the first lap on a drying track, Kevin Magnussen had a failure which left him stranded on a track. With just over 3 minutes left on the clock, everyone went out for a one-lap shootout. Checo was sitting on the pitlane exit for well over 5 minutes and was the first one on a fast-evolving track. He crossed the line first and set the fastest lap. However, everyone behind him improved exponentially and Checo only managed P16.

Fans took to Twitter as they expressed their frustration about Sergio Perez’s poor qualifying run continuing at Silverstone. Many fans suggested that Perez is going to lose his seat as others demanded Red Bull to replace him. Whatever the case may be, Red Bull definitely needs to sit down with Checo and discuss what’s going on with him. If this stretches any longer, the Mexican might as well say goodbye to the Milton-Keynes-based team
