He garnered some experience in those times that he has written about in his new autobiography, which is aptly named “Death in the Face.” Co-written with his wife and journalist Marion Grosjean, the book describes how Romain had to go to the hospital due to his accident and whose visit he remembers to be the most special of all during that time.

In his words, Grosjean described current Aston Martin F1 Racing Team driver Sebastian Vettel’s visit to him. The former Haas driver said it was the most special of them all. He believes Sebastian Vettel has a very similar life story as him, and thus he relates with the German driver so well.

Vettel’s visit to the hospital, right after Grosjean suffered from what has got to be one of the most awful F1 accidents in recent times, speaks of his kind and affectionate nature. Known amongst all members of the paddock as one of the most honorable men in the sport, Vettel has shown fans his good-natured side on multiple occasions.

While every single F1 driver prayed for Grosjean’s well-being that fateful night, Vettel made an extra effort to go there and let him know they were all beside him. Not just Vettel, three more drivers paid a visit to the current driver who’s venturing into the IndyCar scene in the US.

Speaking of Seb’s visit, Grosjean tweeted, “On Monday, November 30, I woke up at six in the morning. Someone arrived very early and in a rather unexpected way: Sebastian Vettel. He was worried about me.” (Translated via Google Translate)

On his visit, Vettel told Grosjean to take some time off and step back from the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix as he had just been through a very tough time. While Grosjean was adamant about finishing off the season with the last race, Vettel reminded him that his health comes above all, and he successfully convinced him to take some rest.

As a veteran driver, Vettel knows about the mentality of drivers in the paddock, and he always helps them whenever they need. A classy gentleman, Vettel has won many hearts not just because of his brilliant driving skills, but also because he is one of the most caring persons at heart.
