Romain Grosjean Working with His Psychologist to Cope with Post-Traumatic Effects of the Horrific Crash

Recently, Romain Grosjean survived a horrific crash, as he nearly walked through the doorsteps of death. However, he did an impressive job of getting himself out of a burning car, and reached the hands of Dr. Ian Roberts safely.

Despite escaping the accident with minor injuries, such crashes do take a toll on the driver psychologically. Hence, Grosjean revealed that he is working with a psychologist to deal with the aftermath.

The Frenchman sounded relieved that he hasn’t had any “bad surprises, flashbacks, or nightmares ” of the crash so far; and is looking to sustain it through the future as well.

According to GPFans, Grosjean opened up on what he’s struggling to deal with since the life-threatening crash. Apparently, he is not mentally harmed by the crash.

Instead, he has struggled with the fact that he put his loved ones through a rollercoaster of emotions.  “What is the hardest?” Grosjean questioned himself.

The Bahrain Grand Prix showed a glimpse of how dangerous Formula 1 can be, and it was Romain Grosjean who provided that example.

The crash left the entire viewers shocked and speechless. Things got worse as F1 decided not to show replays of the incident until the confirmation that the driver is safe. This decision left everyone blindfolded, wondering about nothing but one question. Did he survive that crash?

For two minutes 43 [seconds], they thought their friend, their husband, their father was dead. And that is what I am working on because that is what made me cry, that I made people suffer to that extent,” Grosjean said.

It wasn’t until a few minutes from the crash that F1 confirmed Grosjean was safe, as the entire racing community heaved a sigh of relief.

Grosjean escaped with minor burns to both his hands and one of his ankles. The fact that his left boot came off during the impact dropped the foot vulnerable to the inferno.

Despite going through such trauma, Grosjean maintained his cheerful attitude, in an attempt to avoid sharing his pain with the others. Hence, one can only hope that the Frenchman recovers fast and produces a stunning comeback to racing.
