Heading into Hungary, the rivalry between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton is already much more intense that it was at the beginning of the season. Contact between the two sent the former into the barriers in Silverstone at breakneck speed, and what followed was a war of words between the two teams.

But it looks like former Mercedes driver, Nico Rosberg, hasn’t had enough of the drama and has plans to create more gossip at the Hungarian Grand Prix!

What did Nico Rosberg say?

During an interview with Sky Sports F1, the 2016 world champion opened up about how he cannot wait for the next race in Hungary and hopes the two title rivals face the media together ahead of the Hungarian GP.

“First and foremost, the most important is health, so it was important to see Max walk out, to have his checks in hospital and everything to be ok,” said Rosberg.

“Then after that, it was just an amazing battle. As a pundit for Sky Sports and as a fan of the sport, it’s so awesome. I’m personally excited now for the next race. How is the dynamic going to play out?

“Even just the next press conference on Thursday – I wish F1 put them both in there to have them next to each other! It’s so cool,” added the 2016 world champion.

Max Verstappen’s winning streak of three races came to an end at Silverstone. The Dutchman was involved in a massive 51G crash after contact with Hamilton on the opening lap. While he went flying into the tire barriers and retired from the race, the Briton went on to win the British GP. In doing so, Hamilton also cut down his points deficit to just eight points.

Last year at the Hungarian GP, Verstappen damaged his front wing and suspension before even the race got started. With some brilliant teamwork, Red Bull’s mechanics repaired his car in just 20 minutes. And as a return gift to his mechanics, Max crossed the checkered flag in P2. And the championship leader will hope to repeat, if not improve, his performance at Hungaroring this time around.
