Saudi Arabian GP Victory Leaves Max Verstappen On the Verge of Breaking Into the Top 15 F1 Drivers of All Time

The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix is finally over and it was a great day at the office for Max Verstappen. The defending champion has gone off to a flying start to defend his title at Jeddah on Sunday. With this win, the Dutchman has leveled his number of race wins with Kimi Raikkonen.
After the disappointing Bahrain Grand Prix last week, Max had the finish he wanted. The season opener was quite shocking for the fans as well as the team to accept. However, with this win, Verstappen is back where he belongs, the top sheet of the driver’s championship.

The Jeddah Corniche Circuit win was the first in 2022 and the 21st career win for the Red Bull driver. With this win, Max caught up with the Ferrari legend, Kimi Raikkonen, on the number of wins. This made Max reach the top 15 on the driver’s list based on race wins. Interestingly, the Dutchman has surpassed another Finnish driver, Mika Hakkinen, who had 20 race wins.

Max Verstappen to break more records this season?
With the form Max Verstappen is in, he will probably catch up with the drivers like Damon Hill who’s with 22 wins, Nico Rosberg with 23 wins, Nelson Piquet with 24 wins, and so on. Lewis Hamilton tops the number of the race-winning list with a whopping 103 wins followed by Michael Schumacher on 91 and Sebastian Vettel on 53.

The dramatic win at Saudi Arabian Grand Prix has put Max Verstappen at P3 in the driver’s standings with 25 points. He’s only behind the Scuderia Ferrari duos of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, who have 45 and 33 points, respectively.
