Red Bull and Max Verstappen will undoubtedly be the winners of the 2022 season, but Ferrari’s rollercoaster year will also hold a special place in the hearts of fans. The Scuderia was expected to claim the title with the quickest vehicle when the season first started, but subsequently, after a number of problems beset the squad, they were demoted to P2. However, it now appears that the Prancing Horse has struck gold, and in the upcoming season, the team will undoubtedly exact revenge on the Milton Keynes side.

Red Bull handled everything with ease as they reduced the campaign to a one-horse race while Ferrari shot themselves in the foot with strategy and reliability concerns, as well as some fairly costly driver blunders, like Charles Leclerc crashing out of the lead in France. The years of hard work put in the Prancing Horse might be yielding high results now, as the team has hit a jackpot. According to a report from Soymotor.com, Ferrari will enter the 2023 season with an engine that will be significantly more powerful.

Ferrari had already built a powerful engine before the engine development freeze in September last year. But they had to dial it down due to reliability issues. Now, having worked on those issues, they will be able to extract about 30 more horsepower from their PU.

The team’s winter will be more difficult than anticipated as a result of team president Mattia Binotto‘s resignation following the 2022 season’s setbacks. It will take some time for Fredric Vasseur, to fully understand the organization’s strengths and weaknesses in order to identify the areas where change is necessary. Having said that, the Monegasque seems pretty positive as he provided some important details on the Ferrari car during the prestigious GALA last month.

Charles Leclerc is optimistic about this year’s Ferrari

Ferrari’s decision to let Binotto leave has given rise to some debates, but on the production floor, it’s business as usual. At the FIA Prize Gala last month, Charles Leclerc stressed the importance of the technical team members staying focused on their tasks rather than getting sidetracked by larger organizational infrastructure concerns.

While talking about the progress of the car, as reported by motorsport.com, he said, “I am confident because we are doing quite a lot of work at the simulator. We’ve been working extremely hard in the past year to try and understand what were the weaknesses of this car in order to get better for next year’s car.

Being optimistic for the next season Leclerc concluded, “I also think that after the 2021 season where we’ve been working very well and reset it a little bit from 2020, that was a difficult season, we have been working in the right direction and in the right way. And this gives me the confidence that we’ll have a competitive car for 2023.”
