The Aston Martin was asked if he had any pre-race rituals by one fan in the interaction. The wise old Sebastian Vettel gave a very logical, yet funny, response that no one was expecting.

Then, delving into his actual rituals, Seb continued, “I, you know, sometimes listen to music, sometimes more or sometimes less and I do some skipping, some warmup exercises before getting in the car.

“I only get in the car from the left side, never from the right, I don’t know why, but it’s just like that, so you could call that a ritual as well.”

Why did Aston Martin decide to keep the four-time world champion?

Vettel has signed a contract extension with the British team and will continue to race for them in the 2022 season. According to Lawrence Barretto of Formula1, despite the slow start, Vettel has put in some stellar performances this year.

“There have still been some strange mistakes–but there have also been plenty of highs, including the podium in Baku and what should have been a podium in Hungary. Had he kept the latter, the German would have been inside the top 10 in the driver’s standings.

“Aston Martin will be pleased, as they will continue to run a world champion who retains the hunger to deliver, who will be incredibly useful with the development of next year’s brand-new cars, and who is acting as a great mentor to his younger teammate Stroll.” said Barretto.
