Sebastian Vettel will be the driving force behind the newly rebranded Aston Martin team as they head into 2021. The 2021 grid will see a feisty battle in the midfield, particularly between Aston Martin and Mclaren.

Both these two teams have a stunning driver lineup behind-the-wheel, Daniel Ricciardo-Lando Norris for McLaren, and Sebastian Vettel-Lance Stroll for Aston Martin. In fact, the dominant Mercedes engine will power both teams, which increases the chances of a rivalry.

McLaren will be wary of Sebastian Vettel

Former team owner Eddie Jordan thinks that McLaren has the upper hand over Aston Martin.

In an interview with F1Insider, he said, “McLaren will return to their old strength in the future, I think their big time will come in 2022.

“Vettel has to perform this year and beat Stroll. Lance can be very quick but he has lacked consistency so far.

“Driver-wise, McLaren is better equipped. Ricciardo is one of the best and Norris is a super talent.”

McLaren team boss Zak Brown said to F1Insider, “Sebastian is a four-time world champion and even if he didn’t have a great year last year, I’m sure he’ll give his best again and be highly motivated.”

With the hype being built around this, McLaren and Aston Martin will prove to be one of the greatest team rivalries that the F1 grid as seen in a while.

A rivalry set for the history books

When the opening race starts on March 28 in Bahrain, all eyes will be glued to the midfield as the Woking-based team will battle it out with the team from Silverstone. The two underrated teams will fight throughout the course to come to the front of the grid.
