Imagine owning a Formula 1 team. Besides the obvious perks of the job, picking the drivers to create the perfect team seems to be the most enticing idea. F1 fans on Twitter put themselves in the hypothetical shoes of team bosses and went wild with what their ideal team pairing would be; Sebastian Vettel and Mick Schumacher took the easy vote.

The WTF1 account on Twitter gave fans a theoretical €100M to pick their ideal driver lineups. However, there was a catch. A world champion would mean €80M; a race winner, 60; podium sitters 40 and no podiums €20M.

There were many interesting storylines, but this one took the cake.

The winning team: Sebastian Vettel and Mick Schumacher

While many fans paired their favorite drivers together, the majority was easy to spot: Mick Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel. The most wholesome duo on the paddock, many fans wished to see the German pair share a garage.

Sebastian Vettel and Mick Schumacher have rightly won the hearts of the fans. Very early into Mick’s entry into F1, the bond shared by the two drivers was well established. Mick had mentioned“I’ve got a great deal of respect for him. I think what my dad was to Sebastian, he is for me: someone that I’m close to, with whom I can talk about motorsport.”

Vettel and Michael Schumacher’s relationship is mirrored in the bond he and Mick share in the paddock; especially as a guru. “We talk a lot about motorsport. I try to get tips from him and put them into practice. He’s been in the sport quite a few more years than me, so every conversation we have helps.”

While it’s highly unlikely that we’ll see the duo share a team, the ROC is as close as it gets. However, that doesn’t mean the end of the on-paddock moments we love to see.
