Sergio Perez Reflects on His F1 Career After Abrupt Racing Point Exit: “Driving for Red Bull is an Enormous Privilege”

If there’s a superpower in Formula 1, Red Bull Racing is surely one of them. The Austrian team hasn’t been in the premium form of motorsport for long but made their place as a legendary team in the history of F1. Sergio Perez, Red Bull’s current driver shares his feelings on this as he drives for the Milton-Keynes-based team.

In a report published by The Players Tribune, Perez opened up on his team and the privilege he feels racing for them. The Mexican driver shared, “Driving for Red Bull is an enormous privilege.”

With such a strong car it is almost guaranteed that you have a chance to win every weekend and that is what you want. I rose in prestige when I started being part of the Red Bull family because it’s such an important brand,” further conveyed the former Force India driver.

Perez joined the Milton-Keynes-based team in 2021 from his former team Racing Point. The driver arrived at the Bulls team after his famous win at Sakhir the year before. At Red Bull, there’s always huge pressure to deliver, and the Guadalajara man surely didn’t disappoint.

Red Bull Racing, the face of domination

Red Bull Racing is another name for domination in the 2022 F1 season. The team not only left everyone else behind with their superior car but also outwitted the other teams with better strategic calls.

The Austrian team built a car that has better straight-line speed than competitors Ferrari or Mercedes, has less porpoising and has improved a lot on their reliability. The huge gap in the constructors’ championship of 2022 tells the story already.

Red Bull, who has already picked up the constructors’ title with three races to go, has a massive 187 and 240 points gap over P2 Ferrari and last year’s champions Mercedes, respectively. While Red Bull has 656 points so far, Ferrari and Mercedes managed to pick up 469 and 416 points.

Talking about the wins, the 2022 F1 season has been a total Red Bull domination would be an understatement. The raging Bulls picked up a staggering 15 wins in 19 rounds so far, with Max Verstappen picking up 13 wins and Sergio Perez picking up 2. All in all, Red Bull Racing has had complete domination in the 2022 F1 season.
