Being Max Verstappen’s teammate is not an easy task. At the moment, Sergio Perez is experiencing that firsthand. The Mexican driving for Red bull gets to witness how Verstappen operates at close quarters. And now, Perez has come forward with some glowing words, to sum up the Dutchman’s talent behind the wheel.

In a recent interview with Fox Sports Perez heaped praise on his teammate. He said, “Max is very good and he is a very complete driver.” He went on to add, “He is without a doubt one of the best in the history of Formula 1, if not the best, for everything, for his education and because he has things that other Formula 1 drivers do not have.”

Perez also commended Verstappen on his ability to drive at the limit and said, “The special thing about Max is the ease of going to the limit, Max goes to the limit from the first lap… he always goes to the limit.”

Verstappen currently leads the driver’s championship 46 points ahead of teammate Perez. The last race in Canada did not help the Mexican who is in pursuit of Verstappen in the title race.

He said, “The championship is young and it can change in one or two weekends, we have to keep working and it is a point that will define the year”.

The Mexican also added, “We can’t have another zero, we need to correct these problems and be perfect to get closer to the championship.”
