Sergio Perez’s Father Left Ecstatic Over Exceptional Monaco GP Conquest

Sergio Perez achieved a lifelong dream of his motorsport career by winning the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday. The Mexican driver drove a flawless race and kept the charging trio of Carlos Sainz, Max Verstappen, and Charles Leclerc behind. Checo was visibly emotional at the podium, celebrating his win, and was trying his best to hold back tears.

It was an emotional moment for his country as Checo overtook Pedro Rodriguez as the most successful Mexican driver in F1, in terms of race wins. Fans around the world were waiting to see how Checo’s father would react to his son’s achievement. His father, Antonio Perez Garibay, took to his Instagram to celebrate his son’s win.

Antonio is arguably the biggest supporter and fan of Sergio. His emotions are always on display whenever the Mexican performs well in the sport. So it was only natural to see him so proud of arguably the greatest achievement of Checo’s career.

Antonio was evidently very happy to see his son on the podium in Mexico, so one can only imagine his joy after the Monaco win. Hopefully, we will see him alongside his son in the paddock soon.

Sergio is the only Mexican driver on the grid, so to be on the podium in front of the home fans was surely something special for him. After his P3 finish, Antonio revealed Checo’s podium was not only incredible for him but for the entire country.

“Sergio’s podium here [in Mexico City] is incredible for the Mexican people, the economy for my country, it’s incredible. This Grand Prix is one of the best and Mexico is one of the best countries in the world. There will be a big party to celebrate [Sergio’s podium] and everyone is invited,” said Antonio after the race.
