‘Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty’ is the theme of the Met Gala this year and the crème de la crème of every field made a beeline to attend. While icons like Blake Lively were absent this year, the biggest fashion celebration nevertheless still made headlines and some of it spilled over our own Formula 1 world. And it is the F1 world’s sweetheart, Daniel Ricciardo, who turned heads with his attendance and has found an F1 fan in Anne Hathaway.

Taking time off from being an active racer, Daniel Ricciardo has been having fun in the States at every opportunity he finds. From partying with the Chainsmokers in the middle of the day to now taking the fashion baton from Lewis Hamilton. While his arrival at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC was already a big one, we just cannot get over Hathaway’s interaction.

Anne Hathaway, who is the face of the iconic brand Versace, obviously wore it to celebrate the legacy of Lagerfeld. She paired it with a Bvlgari necklace. And our own smiling beast donned a Thom Browne. Before entering the museum, while in front of the media, the two worlds collided. The Princess Diaries star, who herself looked like one, professed her love of F1 to the heartthrob of F1. She said, “I’m a huge fan of F1“.

It isn’t too long ago that Formula 1’s most successful Lewis Hamilton bought an entire table at the Met. He splurged a few million to give upcoming black designers a platform. While the man has still found a Met connection, this year as he wished his dear friend Serena Williams for her pregnancy that she announced at the event, the real winner is the Honey Badger.
