Despite its nonexistence in the last and the current season, the Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen rivalry lives on. The cold war is hardly visible on the track. However, the fans are keeping the rivalry alive by nitpicking on even gestures to attack the rival driver. During the Austrian GP, Hamilton faced some similar antics from Verstappen’s orange army. However, the LH army wasn’t going to let it pass. In fact, the fans flooded the unbiased defamatory allegation for a simple act of self-preservation with counter-criticism.
During the Austrian GP, Hamilton man was pictured covering his ears like a lot of other drivers do. The drivers do it to protect themselves from the extremely loud sounds in and around the track. On this particular occasion, the Mercedes man was doing so while the Austrian National anthem was playing.
Hamilton was the only driver in the lineup covering his ears during the national anthem at the home of Red Bull. Twitter user @DaanBarnard took it upon themself to outline this and criticize the Brit.

They tweeted, “Lewis Hamilton’s disrespectful gesture during the Austrian national anthem. Covering his ears – a lack of sportsmanship that doesn’t go unnoticed. If any other driver had done the same, the backlash would’ve been immense. #F1 needs to ensure rules apply to all.”
The tweet soon caught the attention of many. Unlucky for @DaanBarnard, it was the Hamilton stans who took notice of these claims and started defending their champion against these allegations.
