Daniel Ricciardo is perhaps the most entertaining person on the grid. The jolly Aussie is known for making your jaws ache by making you laugh. His stint with McLaren might not have ended the way he wanted it to, but the Honey Badger is still smiling and not giving up on a return to the grid.

Ever since Ricciardo left Red Bull for Renault, his career graph has seeped downwards. The Australian and Max Verstappen were one of the best team pairings on the grid. Furthermore, they were also one of the funniest team pairings back then, with Red Bull’s promotional videos often bringing a smile to fans’ faces.

One such instance was when Max and Daniel were asked in the “Grill the Grid- Truth or Lie” if they had ever ignored their boss’s calls. The pair hesitated before Max finally said, “Yeah, you did that recently I guess.” He further continued, “With Helmut, he always wants to call me at 8 in the morning, but I’m like naah.”

Daniel then revealed a clever way to Max and suggested to pant when Marko calls next time. He then told the Dutchman to tell him, “I’m in the gym”. The pair shared a good laugh before the question changed.

When asked if he was scared at his current position, Ricciardo told Auto Motor and Sport, “More joy than fear. There’s a bit of fear involved because I’ve been a racer for so long in my life and I’ve never done anything else. On the other hand, I’m incredibly curious about what I’ll do with the time that’s been given to me.” [Translated from Google]

Furthermore, he stated, “Even if it’s just a trip by car. We travel the world but see nothing. I want to discover the world a bit. I want to work on my fitness. It’s up to me to shape this time. I will enjoy this freedom.”
