Receiving the knighthood could very well have been the biggest achievement of Lewis Hamilton’s career. Unsurprisingly, it was a topic of discussion during Hamilton’s visit to Jimmy Kimmel’s talk show. However, a British journalist couldn’t help himself from pulling Sir Hamilton’s leg following the thorough on-air discussion.

Sir Hamilton made his way to the driver’s press conference area ahead of the Mexican GP practice sessions. That’s where Sir Hamilton came across journalist Ted Kravitz. During this conversation, Kravitz indulged in a little banter with the Mercedes man.

As soon as a reporter started the conversation with, “Hi Lewis,” Kravitz interrupted and began Sir Lewis’s leg-pulling. “Well, Sir Lewis, as Jimmy Kimmel, was very keen to explore,” said Ted Kravitz.

However, Sir Lewis came prepared and replied, “Well, you’re a Brit, so you should refer to me as Sir Lewis,” followed with a subtle wink. Kravitz replied, “Well, I think you should’ve come in chain mail and on a horse with a spear and a sword. That’s clearly what they wanted.” On a horse? Ted Kravitz clearly wants to see Sir Hamilton recreate Daniel Ricciardo’s US Grand Prix entrance.

“I love the way they love this little ‘Sir Lewis’. It’s like back to heraldic days, it’s really cool! Sitting around the knight’s table, you could do!” the British journalist added.

Taking it the way it was intended, Sir Hamilton cheekily added, “Maybe I should get a nice table, but I don’t actually know any other knights, so be sitting there on my own.”

As soon as Hamilton sat down, Jimmy Kimmel started the conversation by saying, “You’re a Sir now. Last time you were just a Lewis.” There were more instances throughout the show where the American referred to Hamilton as ‘Sir’ which might’ve been the reason behind Ted Kravitz mocking ‘Sir Lewis’.
