After 3 years of ups and downs, Nicholas Latifi will depart from Williams Racing. The Canadian driver has been involved in some of the most iconic moments of sport in the past. From causing the safety car that arguably won Max Verstappen his title, to his recent error in the Singapore GP, Latifi has had some memorable rides in F1.

However, the fans did not receive his latest error in the Suzuka Circuit well. Many called him out for the same.

Williams announced that they will be parting ways with Latifi at the end of the season. The news didn’t come as a big surprise, especially with all the rumors surrounding the drivers’ market.

The Williams CEO, Jost Capito said, “He is a great team player who has a great attitude towards his colleagues and work and is well-liked and respected throughout the business.”

However, his recent error in the FP of the Japanese GP was not well received by Formula 1 fans. Latifi is racing in the Japanese GP for the first and possibly the last time. The Canadian took a wrong turn towards a dead end, instead of taking the one which led to the main straight.

Furthermore, fans had no interest in letting the Canadian driver off the hook for his mistake. Many fans described the incident to be ’embarrassing’.

Meanwhile, others saw the funny side of the incident and joked about his error.
