The World of F1 and Football are not very different if one really dives into the details. A football match is usually 90 minutes long and so is an F1 race. The extra time added because of injuries is comparable to a safety car or a Red Flag. Both are team sports but the goal scorer in football and the driver in F1 gets the limelight. But it’s the people behind the scenes, who actually put the limelight grabbers in play. They are the unsung heroes. In F1’s case, they are the engineers, and in Football, it is one who assists.

Look at Red Bull for example, where Max Verstappen is accredited for the dominance, but wouldn’t be able to do the same without Adrian Newey. On the other hand in Barcelona’s case, Lionel Messi was highlighted for his goal-scoring capabilities, but his assists and movements to make opportunities for others usually went unnoticed. And now, an F1 pundit has come out to explain how Adrian Newey is the Lionel Messi of F1.

Lionel Messi didn’t want to leave Barcelona, the club where he achieved the most success, but was forced to look for other teams as the club suffered from financial difficulties. Adrian Newey also signed a new contract with Red Bull last year, which would’ve seen him work till retirement age at the team that he won the most championships with. However, the situation at the team with Christian Horner is now the reason why he’s unhappy and wants to leave.

Chelsea is believed to have come forward with an elephant-sized offer for Messi, but he chose to move to PSG and play with his mate Neymar Jr. In Adrian Newey’s case, despite having a huge offer from Aston Martin, Ferrari is said to be the team he’s most likely to move to as working with Lewis Hamilton has always been a dream of his. The similarities between Adrian Newey and Lionel Messi are never-ending.

Regardless, one of the biggest similarities between them is the fact that, whenever they’ve been available on the market, every team in the world has done everything in their power to sign them. And that is exactly what Leo Turrini suggested in his blog. According to quotidiano.net, Turrini wrote, “One like Newey is like Messi in football. Everyone would take it. The Mercedes, the Aston Martin, the Audi to come. With Max or even without.”

And while Lionel Messi is having one final hurrah at Inter Miami, Adrian Newey’s final career move hasn’t been decided yet. The latest that we have on the same is that Aston Martin has made a $100 million offer to the genius. Will he take the offer and join Aston Martin?

Lawrence Stroll is rumored to have offered Adrian Newey $100 Million to join Aston Martin

Aston Martin has a huge project in place with Lawrence Stroll’s vision to make the team and his son Lance Stroll world champions. The new factory and wind tunnel are soon going to be fully online whereas the team will no longer be a customer team from 2026 and will have Honda exclusively make engines for them. Yet the midfield mentality is still somewhat there. Someone like Adrian Newey will just not bring his skill sets, but also the know-how of how to operate like a championship-winning team.

As his Red Bull exit rumors gain traction, Lawrence Stroll, who’s previously believed to have contacted Newey regarding a possible switch is rumored to have made a $100 million offer to the mastermind, as he tries to lure him away from Ferrari. And Aston Martin wouldn’t actually be a bad bet, as his prodigy Dan Fallows is already working with the team.
