Wolff was quick with his comeback. “I’m sure of your secret place. I think you sold them on eBay.” Bottas reveals that 20 of his trophies are in Brackley, which still leaves a good 38 trophies. “I think they got lost,” the Finn said with a laugh.

Suspiciously, Wolff tells his driver to keep an eye on eBay. “Lost Valtteri Bottas podium trophies.” Surely, Mercedes doesn’t need the money from pawning off Bottas’ trophies! WOlff must have them hidden in his office for the memories.

Looking back at his first win in Russia, Bottas said, “when I remember my first win at any moment, it feels like yesterday.” Further, it’s not often that you end your debut year with donuts and a constructor’s championship in hand.

Yet, he ended his career with the team, once again holding the championship trophy high. In a year where Red Bull presented a potent threat to the Silver Arrows, Bottas’ contributions to the team have been immense.
