Lando Norris’s hopes of winning the championship have been packed in a box and thrown deep into the sea by McLaren. For now, his first dream of winning a Grand Prix appears to be far off in the future, thanks to the speedy beast, the MCL60, produced by McLaren. Wherever the Briton or anyone from the team goes, they are asked about the car’s performance as the papaya army continues to suffer in silence.

This time, however, when Motorsport shared a video of Lando Norris talking about his personal car, fans took it personally and chastised the team for the poor and slow MCL60. Fans spare Lando and solely try to hold the team guilty. Lando’s car choice, on the other hand, made things difficult for him and invited some ridicule. How so? When he revealed that the first car he bought for himself was a Fiat Jolly.

Yes, the $30 million-worth F1 driver chose this! The vintage car, which costs nearly $49,000, has up to 22 horsepower, whereas Norris’ model has only 15 horsepower. Furthermore, the car’s highest engine capacity was around 650 cc in the best and most powerful versions. So, it’s indeed shocking to see an F1 driver going for such a leisurely car. Thus, the parallels drawn between this vintage car and the MCL60 were uncanny, and fans spared nothing to target the team and the driver.

The MCL60s finished out of the points in both races. In the first race, Piastri had to retire, and in Saudi Arabia, things didn’t take off for Norris and the Australian. Moreover, the car reportedly remains the slowest. This fact struck a chord with fans, as McLaren was called out by Lando Norris’ fans.

One of the fans commented, “He thought that was the slowest car he could ever drive, then the 2023 f1 season started,” while other users said, “still a better looking car than mcl60 lmao,” and “Driving slow car in track, driving slow car outside the track. Mr Consistency.”

Other comments backed the Fiat against MCL60, saying, “still faster than the mclaren 🗿🗿”, “dude drives a tractor on and off track damn thats dedication”, “Just like his mclaren💀”  and “Looking at this video I don’t get why he’s complaining about the MCL60 😂”.

Certainly, the McLaren fans are pissed. One of the sliest comments that appeared was, “Once you’ve driven a formula one car, I doubt any other sports or hyper car can give you any kick.”,   “A Fiat…is that a step towards a Ferrari drive and a renewal of the bromance with Carlos?!” and “Inspired by Carlos’s Golf”.

Lando’s patience must’ve developed while driving the Jolly. Otherwise, we don’t think the Briton would’ve kept up with the trouble, i.e., the MCL60.
