Once a Papaya family member, always a Papaya family member. That’s the mantra Lewis Hamilton has been living by for the past few weeks because if there’s one thing Hamilton is, it’s loyal. When he joined McLaren in 2007, excelled with the team, and left for Mercedes in 2013, the Papaya Army was understandably upset. But now that the Formula 1 world is witnessing McLaren rise from the ashes in 2023, Hamilton has proven that he’s still a McLaren boy at heart.

With McLaren’s resurgence in the past few weeks, every time he sees Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri, and McLaren on top, he makes it a point to mention how happy he is to see his former team back where it belongs. And according to Norris, “he still has a lot of love for McLaren.” On numerous occasions in the past, Hamilton has expressed how proud he is of Norris and how talented the young Brit is. And love and respect go both ways because Norris has said many times that Hamilton was one of the reasons he wanted to become an F1 driver.

Considering their admiration for each other, a few things Norris said after the Hungarian GP didn’t sit right with the Lewis Hamilton Army. He said, “I don’t think we expected to be here this weekend, especially in P2. Mercedes were on pole here last year, and their car has been pretty good. I know Lewis complains a lot about how amazing our car is and how bad theirs is. But they don’t have a bad car, and they haven’t all season.”

It’s no secret Mercedes has had a tough season-and-a-half. So when, after a 33-race gap, Hamilton qualified on pole at Hungaroring—one of his favorite tracks—he was ecstatic. But as good as qualifying was for him, he couldn’t emulate the same result in the race and finished less than two seconds behind third-placed Sergio Perez. And what Norris added to his earlier statement about Hamilton and Mercedes made the LH Army unleash hate on the young Brit.

Lando Norris has “no respect” for Lewis Hamilton

While discussing McLaren’s turnaround this season—fighting among the backmarkers to fighting against Mercedes (and Red Bull occasionally)—Lando said, “Yesterday, Lewis complained of how tough it was, finishing outside first position. Try racing in 19th and 20th. He’s never done that in his life. That’s the only thing that Lewis hasn’t done that I have in Formula 1.” And the fact that he said Hamilton has never had to fight at the back made him Public Enemy No.1 for the LH Army.

One fan mentioned how much Lewis loves Lando, but they think it’s obvious Lando has never felt that way about the seven-time champion.

Another fan called him a “backstabber,” writing that they never want Lewis to pay heed to Lando anymore. And many others shared the same sentiment.

Many Hamilton fans mentioned that he has no respect for Lewis and that they don’t like him.

Some even mentioned that Lando has no wins or achievements to even say anything against Lewis.

One fan even wrote how Norris broke Max Verstappen’s trophy and probably has no intention of replacing it, which shows he has no respect for anyone.
