Sebastian Vettel finally breathed a sigh of relief, finishing the Hungarian Grand Prix in P6. After a really poor first race, where he only managed a solitary point and an unlucky second race where he had to retire, this performance would have made the German feel much better.
Obviously, we all know that Vettel’s move to Ferrari never quite worked out. As his career with the Maranello-based outfit winds down, the 4-time world champion reflects on his past decisions.
Including his monumental decision of leaving Red Bull for Scuderia Ferrari.

No regret for Sebastian Vettel over decision to swap Red Bull for Ferrari but hopes he could have left on a better note

Vettel was in conversation with Sky Sports, ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix. When asked if he regrets moving to Ferrari from Red Bull, Vettel said, “No, I don’t, and that’s the truth. Obviously, what I do regret is the way the things ended.
“Obviously, we didn’t finish on a high but that’s how the sport is sometimes. But more so, I think it was a bit of a weird constellation with contracts, what I was supposed to say, was allowed to say, not allowed to say, that made it a bit awkward.
“So when Christian (Horner) probably received that text, he knew what was coming, we all knew what was coming but nobody was mentioning it yet. That, looking back, I’d say I regret. (However) we had a fantastic time together, achieved so much.
“We had a blast, really.”
Joining the Italian outfit was a dream come true for Vettel. He certainly would have been hoping to add a few more world titles to his name. But alas, the pairing never quite produced the magic that was required to do so.
Now after 6 years, the relationship that never quite worked, is spluttering to a rocky end.

With a week off, after a hectic triple header, Vettel will probably take the time to clear his mind. He’ll want to consider his future options as well.
After all, the German has been in loose talks with Racing Point and is being rumored to replace Sergio Perez next year.
