We are all aware of the incident. However, without making assumptions, let us give you a quick recap. The Red Bull Dutchman refused to swap positions with his Mexican teammate in the penultimate lap of the race. Verstappen denied the swap team order and cost Perez crucial points in the drivers’ championship. Because of Verstappen’s decision, Perez is now third and on equal points with Charles Leclerc.

Ralf Schumacher, the cousin of the legendary Michael Schumacher, expressed his opinion of the situation. “I think Sergio Perez showed in the first year how much he can fight for the team,” said Schumacher. “I think that would have been payback time. It’s just a bit of a street fighter mentality, a bit of egotism. And of course: He’s super successful, but something like that can also cost you support in the team, and I don’t know if it’s worth something like that.” (Translated by Google)

“He has to pull himself together and reset his stubbornness,” concluded the German.
