Charles Leclerc was cruising in the lead, but then on lap 46, the Ferrari driver reported an engine problem over the radio. The Maranello-based team looked into the problem and confirmed an issue with MGU-H, which was costing Leclerc a huge chunk of straight-line speed.

Two laps later, Lewis Hamilton overtook the pole-sitter to take the lead. On lap 54, Bottas passed the Ferrari driver. Eventually, Charles Leclerc finished third and secured his first podium with Ferrari.
