Daniel Ricciardo was certainly happy after making a double overtake on rival Alpines. The French team was under its own attack after Esteban Ocon challenged teammate Fernando Alonso. This obviously put them in jeopardy, as the “Honey Badger” gained an advantage.

Ricciardo has shown immense improvement from the past few races. After facing intense criticism, he has indeed pushed his MCL36 into points places. This move especially proved his mettle as a driver.

Many have been wanting Ricciardo to give performances like these for a while. And he finally delivered with the second half of the season really playing his way. The driver literally waited patiently, placed his car in the best position, and made the move on Alonso while his position was compromised. Twitter obviously reacted to this!

The two Alpines were left struggling between themselves after that. This will certainly prove to be a good thing for McLaren, who is directly in competition with the French team for fourth place.
