The sound of roaring engines, burning rubber, and speed was heard in the Miami GP for the first time this weekend as Formula 1 visited the sunshine state. The week in Miami was an entertaining one. Celebrities and superstar athletes were in attendance as Max Verstappen emerged victorious ahead of Charles Leclerc once again.

As the inaugural Grand Prix in Miami came to an end, there were some talking points. From Martin Brundle’s awkward grid walk interviews with celebrities to NFL-themed helmets on the podium, the Grand Prix certainly had its moments. However, the fans were not pleased with the TV direction during the race.
There were complaints among the fans that they missed out on crucial overtakes because of the poor TV direction. Fans believed the direction showed crowd shots and zoomed-out views during important overtakes. And they also felt the TV coverage omitted some of the midfield chaos and the battle between Mercedes teammates Hamilton and Russell.
The fans on Twitter voiced their displeasure on this. Some believe the coverage showed plenty of unwanted shots instead of showcasing the racing action on the track.

There were a grand total of 45 overtakes in the race, but the TV direction did not do any justice, according to the fans.

Watching the race back and the TV direction was absolutely shocking.
They managed to either cut to a crowd shot or a replay every single time Leclerc got close to a move on Verstappen in the braking zone at Turn 11.

It is fair to say the poor coverage enraged some fans as they believe F1 should take the necessary action to improve it.

Some believe the celebrities on the show stole the Grand Prix’s thunder. On the contrary, we witnessed some incredible racing after the collision between Lando Norris and Pierre Gasly. The racing drama between the top two teams, the Mercedes teammates and midfield battle, was enticing, to say the least.

Formula 1 moves to Barcelona in two weeks’ time. Red Bull and Max Verstappen will hope to continue their momentum in their bid to win the championship. At the same time, the fans will hope Formula 1 improves its TV coverage as the season progresses.
