“There Is No Magic Wand” – Ferrari F1 Boss Binotto on Situation If They Don’t Win in 2022

Ferrari are having a resurgent season in 2021 after a disastrous 2020 season. They are currently third in the constructors’ championship tied with rivals McLaren on 163 points. But Team Principal Mattia Binotto believes the team can secure third in the standings if they continue to deliver consistent results.

Binotto believes the team has to prioritize the 2022 season. He stated his hopes for Ferrari to get back to the top of the sport again in the 2022 season.

Ferrari team boss reveals the plans if they fail in 2022

As reported by It. Motorsport, Binotto mentioned the importance of the 2022 season for the Italian team. But he also speaks about the course of action if they cannot deliver next season.

“If we were not competitive, it would mean that we did not work in the right way, so we should do an analysis to understand what was missing for the definitive leap.

I am convinced that stability is a fundamental element. There has not been a team in Formula 1 that has won after a period of instability.” said Mattia.

He expanded on his views by talking about a push in the right direction despite certain clear setbacks in recent memory. However, he believes that directed efforts can go a long way in makings things right.

“This does not mean that we should not change, but it means creating a group with stable foundations and enriching it with external resources where it is deemed necessary to do so. If we fail to achieve our goals, it will be important to understand immediately what mistakes have been made and correct them quickly,” said Binnoto.

He added, “We must continue to improve by pushing in this direction. In Formula 1 there is no magic wand, we have to work well in all areas: chassis, aerodynamics, engine, strategy, driver integration.”

F1 is making sizeable regulation changes next season which intend to bring the field closer. The new regulations also hope to bring closer racing and fewer aerodynamic changes by the teams. Binotto gives his opinion on the new regulations in terms of aerodynamic changes.
