No team has underperformed quite like McLaren in the current season. This is the second year in a row that they have had an abysmal start to the season. This scenario even put the future of Lando Norris in doubt, with the talented Brit advised to end his contract early. The team could’ve gotten a morale boost with the favorable track conditions of Montreal, but misery is loving McLaren’s company. However, this scenario is soon changing with McLaren’s TP, Andrea Stella, revealing some exciting news for the Papaya team.

The disappointing first couple of races mobilized the McLaren mob into demanding CEO Zak Brown’s ousting. However, the tensions subsided momentarily after Norris and Oscar Piastri finished in points in Australia. Although that wasn’t enough to hide the underlying issues highlighted from day one which need a permanent fix. According to Stella, as quoted by Motorsport, the team will introduce the fix step by step in the upcoming month.

“At the beginning of the season, we realized that the car needed a fundamental redesign, so this redesign is really interesting. I would say that pretty much every single aero part will change, that’s why the updates will be spread over a few races. It will be quite obvious,” he concluded.

But in the three races in which we will introduce it, the improvements should consist of a few tenths of a second, and it will be evident from the point of view of the lap time.”
