Formula 1 will head to Vegas for the competition’s first-ever Saturday night race. However, before the new season welcomes the new track, Lewis Hamilton, George Russell, and Sergio Perez have already had a taste. Not just a taste, the Brit even crashed the party on the Vegas strip.

To build on the buzz, the Las Vegas GP organized an inaugural event on the track. They gave fans an authentic experience by getting Perez, Hamilton, and Russell on the track in their cars. However, amidst the fun, the British world champion was almost left red-faced as he crashed his W13 towards the end of the strip.

Hamilton was the last to take to the track in his W13 with the sun almost setting. Authentic night race experience for the Brit and the fans, despite the lack of lighting on the track. Despite the lack of visibility, Hamilton put on a show for the fans at the end of the strip with numerous doughnuts. Although, due to the lack of visibility, Hamilton abruptly stopped as he made contact with the central barrier.

Luckily, the car did not take any damage. Although, everyone witnessed the tiny crash, even host David Croft as he exclaimed, “Oh, [Hamilton] just ran out of turning circle.”

Hamilton even explained the crash on the stage when asked about it. “I nearly crashed, yeah,” Hamilton said with a smile. “There was so much smoke, and I had no idea where I was. I was completely lost. I couldn’t figure out the buildings, so I started pulling out and then the barrier [was there].”

Luckily, the crash wasn’t big enough to cause any significant damage apart from a few gasps from the crowd.

According to the numbers, Las Vegas needed no hype. The much-anticipated event for the 2023 season is already generating huge waves as the numbers show.

The numbers were specified in terms of the hotel tariffs and the tickets. A night at the Caesars Palace will cost a massive $1500. Whereas, The Linq boats, the sister property of the Caesars Palace will cost $750 a night.
