Lewis Hamilton has made quite a habit of winning races and even championships. His latest race in Turkey saw him getting crowned as the 7-time World Champion, but it was no easy task.

Despite the general assumption that someone of Lewis’ capability just rocks up at the track and blazes one lap after another, Mercedes boss Toto Wolff sings a different song altogether.

Many a time, because of the kind of success Hamilton enjoys every week, we are led to believe that his job is easy, often trivializing all that goes into those astonishing results.

But Wolff opened up on how tough it is and why it is nothing like one perceives it from the outside. He said, “This is a totally wrong assumption.

“Because you look at the sports stars and you think they are showing up on the pitch or on the racetrack and then it just goes easily, you rely on your ability. That is actually totally wrong. Many of these global sport stars put in a lot of work.

“They are very intelligent, they understand social intelligence also. They have relationship with the important people for their careers and it is the same with Lewis. Their work ethic is really inspirational.”

And although there will be a short period of rest and recovery for Hamilton to soak it all in, he will have to switch his focus back on soon, for the season isn’t done just yet. He’ll be back out in Bahrain on the 29th of November to win his 96th race.

Can anyone throw a spanner in the works? We’ll find out in two weeks’ time.
